Rearrange Triggered Actions

Triggered Actions are typically organized into Trigger Groups, which are used to control which Triggered Actions are executed. The platform supports two different types, or "strategies," of Trigger Groups:

  • Execute only first applicable rule: Once a Triggered Action in this Trigger Group is executed, all other Triggered Actions are skipped. For example, if you are using Triggered Actions to send email messages, you could put them in the same Trigger Group to avoid sending multiple messages to the same Member.

  • Execute all applicable rules: All Triggered Actions in this Trigger Group can be executed.

The sequence in which the Triggered Actions appear within a Trigger Group controls the order in which the platform executes those Triggered Actions.

For example, let's say you have five Triggered Actions within a Group, and that Group is configured to use the "Execute only first applicable rule" strategy. The platform will evaluate the first Triggered Action in the Group. If that condition fails, the platform will move on to the second Triggered Action, and so forth.

To rearrange a Triggered Action within a Trigger Group:

  1. Select Rules from the top navigation bar, then select Triggered Actions from the side navigation menu. The Triggered Actions screen is displayed.

  2. Optionally, search for the desired Triggered Action (see Search for a Triggered Action for more information on the available search options).

  3. Optionally, expand a Trigger Group by clicking the Expand icon next to its name.

  4. To the left of the desired Triggered Action, click and hold on the "handle" area.

  1. Drag-and-drop the Triggered Action in its desired place within the Group.

Note: You can't move a Triggered Action into a different Trigger Group via the drag-and-drop method described above. To change a Triggered Action's inclusion in a Group, you must edit its properties (see Edit Triggered Action Properties for more details on this process)
